Why don’t more people have everything that they want in life?
It’s simple; Follow-Through.
We have all set some kind of goal or a New Year’s Resolution with great intentions only to find a month or two down the line that we are way off track again. But we need to wake up to the fact that what got us to this particular place in our lives, and keeps us here, won’t get us to where we want to go.
“If you change nothing, nothing will change” ~ Tony Robbins
Whether your goal is related to finances, career, business, or even learning how to play the guitar, you can be sure of one thing; a massive transformation is going to require a new level of commitment and a new level of education.
As human beings, we don’t like to be uncomfortable.
Our brains are wired so that when we’re faced with uncertainty, we freeze up. We want to go back to being comfortable, certain, and “safe”. We have all this chatter going on in our heads that says things like “Too risky. Better not. What would people think? What if I fail?”
You will never feel like changing. You will never feel like stepping outside of your comfort zone and learning whatever you need to learn to become the person you are meant to be.
So don’t wait until it feels right. The time is now.
Author and speaker, Mel Robbins suggests starting with this simple exercise: when you go to bed tonight, set your alarm for a half hour earlier. And when it goes off in the morning, you need to actually get out of bed! And when you do, you will come face to face with the physical realization of the kind of decided action and energy required for creating real change in your life.
It’s not comfortable. It doesn’t come naturally.
But do it because it’s a small, symbolic first step to creating change in your life and to becoming the best version of yourself.
